HORSESHOE
PITCHERS
WELCOME AT EARL PARK FALL FESTIVAL
A
horseshoe tournament will be held during the Earl Park Fall Festival
on Labor Day. Qualifications for the tournament will begin at
8:30 AM in the horseshoe pit located on the North side of the
Cardinal Roost. Individuals who wish to participate in qualifications
must be at least 18 years of age and pay a fee of $1. Thirty-two
people will qualify to play in the horseshoe tournament. The fee
to play in the tournament is $3 and tournament competition begins
at 10:30 AM.
The
horseshoe tournament is divided into 4 classes with 8 pitchers
per class. An individual’s performance during qualifications
will rank them into the appropriate A, B, C, or D class. All participants
will play each person within their own class. Therefore, individuals
will pitch at least 7 games over the course of the horseshoe tournament.
Pitchers in the A and B classes play to 30 points. Pitchers in
the C and D classes play to 21 points. The National Horseshoe
Pitchers Association of America rules are followed.
A
trophy is awarded to the first and second place person in each
class. There is also a trophy given for the highest qualifier.
